Hone your competition skills with the official International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) steel practice target designed to encourage good shooting habits and build muscle memory for accurate shots.
The PT IDPA Practice Torso is the official steel practice target of the IDPA and one of the most effective training tools for competitive shooting. It features a regulation torso shape including the -1 and -0 scoring zones with reactive swinging plates for the -0 head square and center mass circle which are both reduced 2" to encourage more accurate shooting. The reactive plates are gravity reset which means you can spend more time shooting and less time walking downrange. The PT IDPA Practice Torso also helps reinforce good shooting habits. For every shot that is on target, you get instant feedback from seeing the target react and from hearing the distinctive "clang" as the bullet makes impact. This allows your brain to make a connection between the exact muscle movements you made and the reward of positive feedback.
The PT IDPA Practice Torso is built to last with 3/8" AR550 armor steel capable of handling standard handgun rounds at 10 yards and rifle rounds under 3,000 fps muzzle velocity at 100 yards*. The target is designed with no exposed bolts, clamps, or brackets for a completely flat shooting surface that produces predictable splatter patterns and reduces the risk of ricochet coming back at the shooter. It also features a patent pending bracket and hinge design for tool-free assembly of the reactive pieces and a secure fit even when shot with rifles.NOTE: The center stand and feet are made of mild steel and are not intended to withstand the force of a bullet. Shooting the stand and feet may result in damage.Specifications:

Because it is made of 3/8" AR550 steel, the PT IDPA Practice Torso works great with rifles at 100 yards+ using ammunition below 3,000 fps.Does the angle of the torso affect the IDPA dimensions?: The PT IDPA Practice Torso is angled at 15 degrees to help direct bullet splatter toward the ground. The dimensions of the target are slightly elongated to adjust for this angle, so what you see from the shooting line are the regulation dimensions. Can the PT IDPA Practice Torso be used in IDPA competitions?: No. IDPA rules specify that steel targets used in competition must fall or change shape when hit. The purpose of this target is to help shooters train for shooting on the standard IDPA cardboard torso targets used in competition.
